Fees
Services are usually provided on an hourly fee basis at a standard hourly rate of $300.00.
An advanced fee deposit is required for representation in a State Bar matter. The amount of the required advanced fee deposit varies depending on the complexity of the matter. Matters at the investigation stage typically required a minimum advanced fee of$3,000. Litigation matters in State Bar Court typically require a minimum advanced fee of $6,000 or more. A written fee agreement is required.
Admission matters, transactional matters and general legal advice require a minimum advanced fee of $1,500. A written fee agreement is required.
Limited engagement consultation is available on an hourly basis: The minimum fee for a one-time consultation is $300.00. Most consultations last a minimum of one hour but may last longer. The goal of the consultation is to identify issues and client options.
In State Bar matters: travel time to and from the State Bar in Los Angeles from David Cameron Carr's office in San Diego is billed at one hour ($300), regardless of the actual time each trip takes.
Expert witness work requires an initial non-refundable minimum retainer of $1,000 to be paid prior to David Cameron Carr's designation as an expert witness.
Some matters are appropriate for flat fee and contingent fee arrangements.
Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and Discover) are accepted for payment. Clients are responsible for paying credit cards charges with a minimum $10 service charge.
